July’s Wedding Color Inspiration: Navy Blue

July 2nd, 2014

f6d6f90dd975f6252448ebd71ffdc6e5Ah, July, a month full of patriotic spirit, social gatherings, beach days, and color coordinated attire. It’s down right impossible not to fall in love with the excuse to embrace all things blue…especially this month! So, in honor of the coastal appeal of this timeless hue, July’s color inspiration is the ever-so-chic, always classic, navy blue! Let’s face it, this color is always on point—whether in event design or interior design—this classic color creates a variety of ideas with it’s universal appeal. Can you sense our stripe theme as well? The lovely Oscar de la Renta dress below was a second inspiration for July! Happy summer.

FIORE FUN FACT: Our whole team (literally, everyone at the shop) has a plethora of design & art experience, gathered from years of creative experience, so we’re always inspired by textiles, art, typography, color…so many wondrous things that capture our eyes as artists and we infuse into the designs. That, and a mega dose of happiness is what inspires us daily. Enjoy!

Crisp & Sleek: An Elegant White Wedding

December 11th, 2013

I_0651We’re a sucker for a man in a uniform; place him next to his glowing bride and bring on the tissues! Sarah and Dana’s fall 2012 wedding was one of timeless elegance and crisp, white details. The bride’s vision of a clean, sleek look was complementary to the couple themselves (literally, just look at them). Sarah’s round bouquet was bursting with a variety of roses and white ranunculus, as her bridesmaids carried white callas. The bride’s vision for ‘sleek’ was exemplified in the monochromatic white floral designs at her reception at the Country Club of Landfall. Understanding Sarah’s vision, and adding a touch of modern, we had a blast showcasing some of our most beloved flowers in glass vases to keep the room open and the look crisp. What was out favorite detail? Allowing each stunning, sophisticated flower to stand alone on display. This design detail allowed all the other design elements to ‘pop’ per say; just look at those chevron menu cards and those orchids…Simply Divine.

DESIGNER’S TIP: There’s nothing bland about white. Sarah’s wedding is a true example of creating a design to match the ‘feel’ of the party. We were able to keep the room airy and sleek by designing a monochromatic look and using varying glass vases for guests to see through. Her generous eye for detail (shown in the chargers, etc.) allowed her monochromatic vision to be a timeless showstopper. Essentially, we love a good design adjective.

Wedding Color Story: Yellow & Gray

July 10th, 2013

0498IMG_0416_arianajuan_amanda - CopyWhen we received the images on today’s color story, we literally flipped! Nothing is more playful (and sophisticated) than a wedding showcasing the couple’s personalities and cohesively tying in a custom color scheme…it just makes a party pop! Ariana and Juan’s design concept was as distinct as was this lovely couple. -Unique and modern, with a hint of vintage.

With a modernly refreshing color story of Mustard Yellow & Gray, our design team had a blast creating eclectic, textured filled floral designs to complement the bride’s details.  Ariana and Juan get a round of applause for their whimsical paper details and smart mix of linens.  I think the most fun was creating the custom baseball boutonniere for the groom (and yes, we used a baseball). This wedding needed its day in the sun, I mean look at that cake! We’re lucky to be surrounded by local vendors as talented as our brides and grooms are stylish.

Designer’s Tip: Creating a cohesive color scheme allows you make your party a showstopper without having to go overboard in abundance. It’s a little known trick of the trade, cohesive color details tie everything perfectly together.  0394IMG_0442_arianajuan_amanda0489IMG_8811_arianajuan_brent - Copy0496IMG_0397_arianajuan_amanda - Copy0460IMG_9769_arianajuan_amanda0458IMG_9767_arianajuan_amanda0454IMG_8662_arianajuan_brent0471IMG_9784_arianajuan_amanda0384IMG_0386_arianajuan_amanda

English Garden Hues: Blues, Whites and Pinks

May 29th, 2013

0041.Stephanie + KellyStephanie and Kelly’s fall 2012 wedding was all about the details and incorporating the couple’s personality into their big day. What a delight it was to design for a couple that was playful enough to incorporate their signature margarita drink into glass beakers that represented their passion for science. Now, that’s detail! With Stephanie’s vision of blue incorporated into a lush, delicate design we had a blast complimenting all the details of the coordinating aesthetics all about the party. Soft pastels and lush arrangements presented an elegant appeal.  A strikingly large moss arch, fastened in white hydrangea, served a dual purpose for the ceremony and the reception. Oh, do we love when our brides add statement pieces to their design! The overall look resembled an English garden complimented by personal details and delightful color coordination. What a delight! 0042.Stephanie + KellySONY DSCSONY DSC0028.Stephanie + Kelly0013.Stephanie + Kelly0044.Stephanie + KellySONY DSC0025.Stephanie + KellyDesigner’s Tip: 1.) See the arch above? A visual statement piece like this is a smart way to draw the eye away from which you wish something not to be seen and draw it to something you love.   2.) Oh, those hydrangeas! This pretty, lush bloom is a designer’s dream when you wish to “fill” space in a delicate way.

Luxe & Lovely: Soft Pinks and Whites

May 22nd, 2013

00141_IMG_7664_LisaDean_LindseyJune is just around the (wedding) bend and a month that makes us as giddy as our pending brides-to-be. Lisa & Dean’s 2012 June wedding was a day of perfection out at Figure 8 Yacht Club. Lisa’s soft color palette of pale pinks and striking whites was the perfect color story amongst the crisp blue water and flourishing green landscape. The best part for us was playing with all those sensual orchids… my, oh my! The overall aesthetic captured the couple’s sophisticated style and transformed the room into a fragrant visual of romance. 00174_IMG_8068_LisaDean_Lindsey 00170_IMG_7773_LisaDean_Lindsey00147_IMG_7678_LisaDean_Lindsey 00166_IMG_7732_LisaDean_Lindsey 00158_IMG_7708_LisaDean_Lindsey 00145_IMG_7672_LisaDean_Lindsey 00136_IMG_1753_LisaDean_Rebecca00140_IMG_1766_LisaDean_Rebecca00139_IMG_1762_LisaDean_Rebecca…Swoon.

Fun Design Fact: Did you know this delicate looking flower above is in fact very durable? That’s right! Orchids are not only breathtaking but ideal for indoor and outdoor settings.

Fiore’s Ideas for a Blooming Mother’s Day

May 8th, 2013

blog3Calling all mamas...Mother’s day is this weekend and we love celebrating mom! So as a mom, I knew it was the perfect time to share some simple, stylish ideas that my fellow mothers would appreciate. See the bouquet above? It’s what I call ‘Pink Peonie Perfection’, this flower is stunning, strong and enchanting. So, it is no wonder why I feel it is a direct reflection of moms everywhere. Peonies are delicate but never frail, they compliment any fellow flower but can also stand stunning alone, and they are utterly endearing. Check out these ideas below and become inspired, there’s something for everyone…and remember, we’re always here to help. Enjoy!

1.) Simple & Sweet: Never negate how far a bit of color and pretty paper can take you, a simple bloom wrapped easily in a band of colorful, patterned paper makes for the most delightful presentation. decor8blog2.) Why, hello gorgeous. This astounding amount of tulips (just a few bushels), set in one color palette and a galvanized water bucket, makes anyone mom wish to stay home and host all day long!3a129da23a7a8bdc594be9aa0e93dc5d3.)Cheerfully Dressed: Let mom wake up to color and whimsy with a band of ribbons cascading down a door. This is a great project for the pint size crew! And a fabulous surprise for mom. a9e0f2b656196b300d6c9e47a8c916644.) Garden Chic: Texture and abundance is key here, we love this birch vase (we use them a lot) full of all the wonder of a garden. And green thumb mama would swoon over this. poppytalk5.) A Card As Big As Mom’s Heart: So simple and enadearing! Take any color poster board, string (or ribbon) and let the kiddos have at it. Homemade can still come out chic if the design has structure. c15735fa37edd93e5e6a16caf2111a646.) Cones + Carnations = Charm: Yes, we said it…carnations. This flowers doesn’t get much love, but as designers we know that a bushel of this very textured flower is brilliant for adding a bit of easy charm to decorative accents. These easy-to-make paper cones are a perfect example of thinking outside the box. appetitespoiler.blogspot7.) Lastly… Nothing is a better treat than a Tussie Mussie (petite bouquet) of brilliant blooms for mom. How special would it be for her to receive a mini version of this bouquet we made below?fioreThere’s still time to create something special for mom, hopefully these ideas will inspire you a bit. We’re busy on the design floor building, creating and constructing some mighty pretty arrangement all in the name of (Mom) love if you need some help!

Happiest Mother’s Day wishes to all the lovely moms everywhere.

Lush & Lovely: Blush Tones, Corals and Greens

April 18th, 2013

0031Sometimes luxury needs no words to describe its essence. Our elegant couple Deidra and Bruce were every bit as lovely as they were refined. With their season straddling between the end of summer and the beginning of fall, Deidra’s request for soft coral hues and lush blooms couldn’t have been more picturesque with the setting sun over the lawn of Landfall Country Club. Our bride’s distinct eye for her wedding’s setting allowed us to incorporate rich, sumptuous flowers in a variety of textures, creating an array of colorful delights! Oh, how we loved this happy couple!00950065037600920196 03750248VENDOR ACCOLADES: Photography:Bella Rose Photography Venue:Country Club of Landfall

Modernly Refreshing, Green & White: Figure 8

April 11th, 2013

Lauren and Michael’s May 2012 wedding still leaves us giddy over all the attention to detail congenially fashioned together to give their guests a party they’d never forget (and we’re pretty sure they never will). Lauren’s vision of a simple, modern design full of abundance in the refreshing palette of green and white, accented by purple, allowed us the delightful opportunity to play. And oh boy, did we ever!  Not a detail was missed from the twinkling willow branches climbing the tent poles with smilax, to the sumptuous hydrangea & viburnum dangling from the chandeliers, to the varying lush table arrangements mirroring the enthusiasm and elegance of the couple themselves. One of the most endearing detail was the couple’s request to infuse family traditions into their aesthetic, Lauren’s family prayer-book delicately fastened with two gardenias was southern sentiment at its best…sigh…now, this was a party!
