Coastal Wedding | Wilmington NC

April 27th, 2016

The Intracoastal waterway was the perfect backdrop for Jen & Brad’s coastal wedding.  Jen’s bouquet was a stunning combination of pink peonies, garden roses, ranunculus and succulents. Thank you Kate Supa Photography for the beautiful images.

Airlie Gardens Wedding ~ Wilmington NC

March 13th, 2016

Airlie Gardens was the perfect setting for this modern chic fall wedding. One of our favorite details was the head table inspired by Vincent an Gogh’s  Starry Night. Ayla’s bouquet was a combination of white  hydrangea,  garden roses and beautiful anemones.  Not even a rain storm could damper this beautiful Wilmington NC wedding.

Lush & Lovely: Pinks…Pinks…Coral!

August 6th, 2014

0064 Katie and Josh Theo Milo PhotoDo you believe in love at first sight? When it comes to flowers, we do. Oh, the ongoing love affair of the Peony; this bloom is captured (24-7) on instagram feeds, magazine covers, and anywhere this flower blossoms. It clearly is a “true lady” amongst it’s fellow flowers; elegant, fragrant, and always welcome to a party. Combine this stunning bloom with a variety of roses, hydrangeas and coral ranunculus and you have one of our favorite bouquets of the new 2014 season! This lovely bouquet was the stylish vision of a beautiful bride’s love of lush blooms and a pop of color…we couldn’t have agreed more! We were so inspired, we squeezed in every delicate flower possible to create that perfect ‘sigh-worthy’ moment for our bride.

As for those peonies...whether in the bouquet or sitting pretty on the cake…this ruffled bloom was ready to party. Enjoy!0661 Katie and Josh Theo Milo Photo0657 Katie and Josh Theo Milo Photo0647 Katie and Josh Theo Milo Photo0070 Katie and Josh Theo Milo Photo0659 Katie and Josh Theo Milo Photo0357 Katie and Josh Theo Milo PhotoPHOTOGRAPHER: Theo Milo Photography

Crisp & Classic: Navy, Yellow, and White

April 30th, 2014

Brick Landing wedding photos Ocean Isle NCWe fell hard for this May wedding delight! There’s something so appealing about the delightful combination of yellow, navy and white. This color combo is hands down timeless, and consistently delivers a refreshing pop of color that leaves guests smiling. I mean, who doesn’t love a classic stripe on a ribbon accented with a little sparkle? With the bride’s vision of romantic and classic, the bouquet was designed in a clean palette of white and texture galore-incorporating large, lush flowers such as peonies, mums, hydrangea and ranunculus. Yellow was the reigning accent color for the wedding party’s boutonnieres and bouquets. But can you guess what left us smiling from ear to ear? The deliverance of detail of course. Understated, outdoors elegance was the aesthetic for our wood and hydrangea chuppah, as was the groomsmen’s nautical shoe choice and groom’s tie; it perfectly tied the look together!  Did we mention how utterly sweet those flower girls looked in their halos of yellow flowers…love this.

DESIGNER’S TIP: Never forget the little things. Our savvy bride understood that the wedding party’s attire was the perfect accent to classically pull together her overlook look. This is a great tip in how coordinating your wedding party can be just as aesthetically pleasing as setting a great table. Brick Landing wedding photos Ocean Isle NCBrick Landing wedding photos Ocean Isle NCBrick Landing wedding photos Ocean Isle NCBrick Landing wedding photos Ocean Isle NCBrick Landing wedding photos Ocean Isle NCBrick Landing wedding photos Ocean Isle NCBrick Landing wedding photos Ocean Isle NCBrick Landing wedding photos Ocean Isle NC

Sherbet & Sparkle- A Figure 8 Island Wedding

February 5th, 2014

I_0367Don’t you just love a little sparkle in your life? Our ultra-glam bride, Corina, shone bright for her wondrous spring wedding at Figure 8 Island Yacht Club. The bride is a friend of ours, so it’s no wonder we were a bit weepy as this handsome couple exchanged vows. Corina’s vision of a sherbet color story and a clean, romantic aesthetic was a delight  as we selected all of our favorite peach and cream roses we could get our hands on. The bride’s color choice of “faded sherbet” allowed the flowers to pop against her bridesmaids’ coral peach dresses and the bride’s miles of glamorous tulle. Corina and Gordan’s wedding was that perfect mix of romance and sophistication. What was our favorite part? The petal peach wrap adorning a little sparkle. Everything looks better with a little sparkle!

DESIGNER’S TIP: Mixing a subtle, but similar, palette adds an element of depth so each blended color can perfectly ‘pop’. When you incorporate in a variety of complementing colors, all your details shine bright! Corina’s bouquet was a variety sherbet hues which allowed all her stunning details to stand out—such as the bouquet’s ribbon wrap and that drool worthy jewelry. Eclectic & Enchanting: Mint, Peach and Coral

January 15th, 2014

Elizabeth and Forrest Eric Boneske Photography-19 There is nothing that makes us smile more than a happy bride, and sweet Elizabeth had us grinning from ear to ear! The bride’s overall vision matched her personality to a tee (we love this)! With a design request for a wildflower, eclectic look, we focused on incorporating her color palette of pale peach, yellow and mint into varying textured flowers such as billy balls, succulents and fragrant Juliet cabbage roses. The look was as effortlessly lovely and enchanting as the couple themselves. With a nod to the vintage, varying sized bud vases adorned the family style farm tables and vintage lace table runners. With a hint of playfulness, “LOVE” was spelled out in floating gold letter balloons as one of the many sweet accent details. What was our favorite bit of this Wilmington wedding? Um…hello?! Just look below at that flower girl holding Elizabeth’s bouquet! Now there’s a girl who understands you can never have too much tulle when it comes to twirling on a dance floor. Enjoy!

DESIGNER’S TIP: Never shy away from incorporating your color story into your texture. Elizabeth’s accent color, mint, is a perfect example of when a textured plant, such as a succulent, can be the perfect design element for color and texture.Elizabeth and Forrest Eric Boneske Photography-24Elizabeth and Forrest Eric Boneske Photography-25Elizabeth and Forrest Eric Boneske Photography-13Elizabeth and Forrest Eric Boneske Photography-18Elizabeth and Forrest Eric Boneske Photography-17Elizabeth and Forrest Eric Boneske Photography-3Elizabeth and Forrest Eric Boneske Photography-5Elizabeth and Forrest Eric Boneske Photography-2Elizabeth and Forrest Eric Boneske Photography-10Elizabeth and Forrest Eric Boneske Photography-31Elizabeth and Forrest Eric Boneske Photography-29Elizabeth and Forrest Eric Boneske Photography-12Elizabeth and Forrest Eric Boneske Photography-6VENDOR ACCOLADES: Eric Boneske Photography, Planner: Shindig Events

Our Lovely Wedding Designer’s Divine Wedding Day!

December 18th, 2013

chelsea and logan-018It’s time…We have been sitting (literally) on our hands respectively waiting to show off our very beautiful manager, and lead wedding designer’s, wedding! Chelsea married her main man Logan this past June here in Wilmington, and as expected, our lead wedding designer pulled out all the stops. Their sublime wedding was just featured on the wedding blog A Paper Proposal!

Designing Chelsea’s lush, loose bouquets was beyond memorable. Our design floor was buzzing with anticipation and good vibes as Jean crafted a drool-worthy chandelier of soft sherbet blooms and Kristy joyfully designed bouquets in a soft palate of orange, sherbet hues full of voluminous peonies, roses and blooms. Having a keen eye for style and being a florist (of course) our bride wanted her main color choices to come through in the flowers. Chelsea and Logan’s overall design was as inviting and artistic as the couple themselves.

With such creative DIY details and a nod to southern living (muslin packaged shrimp & grits favors, oh my!) this wedding left guests grinning ear to ear all night. And oh goodness, those personal touches…the monogrammed accents, the custom painted signs, and those romantic flowers accented perfectly by the custom chevron runners. Simply gush-worthy details, all mastered by a wedding designer who understands personal is pretty at it’s best. What was our favorite bit? Logan’s boutonnière, made by his bride, we love this!

CHELSEA’S DESIGNER TIP: “Our wedding was an extension of the style we share.” Weddings are a joyful, intimate celebration all about the couple; so showing off what makes you unique is the best design tip we could share. Enjoy all the loveliness below and check out A Paper Proposal for even more eye-candy on this wedding. chelsea and logan-043 chelsea and logan-050 chelsea and logan-007 chelsea and logan-073 chelsea and logan-023chelsea and logan-017 chelsea and logan-015 chelsea and logan-014 chelsea and logan-072 chelsea and logan-071 chelsea and logan-060 chelsea and logan-024chelsea and logan-091chelsea and logan-006VENDOR ACCOLADES: Photography: Jennifer Priddy Photography, Venue:The Atrium, Wedding Planner: Jill White

FALL in love: Green & Purple Seasonal Hues

November 13th, 2013

20131005_mcknight_0178Look at all this seasonal loveliness! We just can’t get enough of this fall bouquet from our lovely October bride, Catherine. Look at all that texture and subtlety in the altering shades of green. Catherine’s design vision of elegant, simple and harvesty left us giddy over the fact that this wedding would show why we love fall celebrations! Texture. Texture. Texture. Our elegant bride’s dress was the perfect contrast to our seasonal bouquet, it left this unexpected appeal of nature matched with sophistication (we loved it!) With the seasonal chic color choices of deep purples and a mix of greens, all of our favorite fall flowers came to the party, from purple kale (yes, we said kale), to hydrangea, to calla lilies, lavender stock and succulents. All these alluring fall flowers were designed to elegantly bring the outdoors in! The bridesmaids’ eggplant dresses were a great inspiration for autumn filled kale & hydrangea bouquets, as was the elegant satin tablecloths that were the perfect detail to juxtapose our harvest filled centerpieces. This wedding was simply sublime. Enjoy!

Wedding Color Story: Yellow & Gray

July 10th, 2013

0498IMG_0416_arianajuan_amanda - CopyWhen we received the images on today’s color story, we literally flipped! Nothing is more playful (and sophisticated) than a wedding showcasing the couple’s personalities and cohesively tying in a custom color scheme…it just makes a party pop! Ariana and Juan’s design concept was as distinct as was this lovely couple. -Unique and modern, with a hint of vintage.

With a modernly refreshing color story of Mustard Yellow & Gray, our design team had a blast creating eclectic, textured filled floral designs to complement the bride’s details.  Ariana and Juan get a round of applause for their whimsical paper details and smart mix of linens.  I think the most fun was creating the custom baseball boutonniere for the groom (and yes, we used a baseball). This wedding needed its day in the sun, I mean look at that cake! We’re lucky to be surrounded by local vendors as talented as our brides and grooms are stylish.

Designer’s Tip: Creating a cohesive color scheme allows you make your party a showstopper without having to go overboard in abundance. It’s a little known trick of the trade, cohesive color details tie everything perfectly together.  0394IMG_0442_arianajuan_amanda0489IMG_8811_arianajuan_brent - Copy0496IMG_0397_arianajuan_amanda - Copy0460IMG_9769_arianajuan_amanda0458IMG_9767_arianajuan_amanda0454IMG_8662_arianajuan_brent0471IMG_9784_arianajuan_amanda0384IMG_0386_arianajuan_amanda
