Coastal Wedding | Wilmington NC

April 27th, 2016

The Intracoastal waterway was the perfect backdrop for Jen & Brad’s coastal wedding.  Jen’s bouquet was a stunning combination of pink peonies, garden roses, ranunculus and succulents. Thank you Kate Supa Photography for the beautiful images.

Lush & Lovely: Pinks…Pinks…Coral!

August 6th, 2014

0064 Katie and Josh Theo Milo PhotoDo you believe in love at first sight? When it comes to flowers, we do. Oh, the ongoing love affair of the Peony; this bloom is captured (24-7) on instagram feeds, magazine covers, and anywhere this flower blossoms. It clearly is a “true lady” amongst it’s fellow flowers; elegant, fragrant, and always welcome to a party. Combine this stunning bloom with a variety of roses, hydrangeas and coral ranunculus and you have one of our favorite bouquets of the new 2014 season! This lovely bouquet was the stylish vision of a beautiful bride’s love of lush blooms and a pop of color…we couldn’t have agreed more! We were so inspired, we squeezed in every delicate flower possible to create that perfect ‘sigh-worthy’ moment for our bride.

As for those peonies...whether in the bouquet or sitting pretty on the cake…this ruffled bloom was ready to party. Enjoy!0661 Katie and Josh Theo Milo Photo0657 Katie and Josh Theo Milo Photo0647 Katie and Josh Theo Milo Photo0070 Katie and Josh Theo Milo Photo0659 Katie and Josh Theo Milo Photo0357 Katie and Josh Theo Milo PhotoPHOTOGRAPHER: Theo Milo Photography

Shabby Chic Wedding Design: Pink & White

June 25th, 2014

indigosilver-weddings-007-0365This spring wedding was all about lush, romantic flowers and rustic details. Garden roses, hydrangea, and sweet pea galore set the stage for gorgeous garden blooms packed perfectly in a pale palette. Hands down, this wedding design was true shabby chic style! With a soft palette of grey, white, and pink, the rustic accents of wooden containers and sea grass placemats were the perfect complement to this delightful wedding. What was our favorite design detail? The Provencal buffet table above adorned with the galvanized bucket full of baby’s breath, roses, hydrangea and greens…utterly divine. Enjoy!

A Figure 8 Island Style Shoot: Vintage & Romantic

June 11th, 2014

0033 Figure 8 Styled Shoot Theo Milo Photo

Working with a range of talented wedding professionals in Wilmington, North Carolina is one of the many lovely perks about being a floral designer; setting up a style shoot at the breathtaking Figure 8 Island Yacht club is just a pretty bonus! This vintage inspired—wildly romantic—intimate wedding shoot was as lovely as it was inspiring. Theo Milo Photography captured all the fine details of the day. Soft, pale shades of pink and yellow roses, tulips, and ranunculus were our main floral inspiration, all romantically set in heirloom china on vintage linens. This shoot was representative of how sweet and timeless can still be breathtaking and lovely.

Our Design Tip of the week: Make use of the unexpected while creating flowers. Look at that gold-rimmed china serving bowl, piled perfectly with fresh blooms…a centerpiece doesn’t always have to be in only a certain container or vase, sometimes the best design details come from using a little imagination. Enjoy.

The Delight of Coral and White: A Downtown Wedding

May 14th, 2014

julielivingstonphotography-3736 copySome weddings are too good not to share twice, and this lovely celebration is one of them. Just look at that coral color above —accented by the most charming wooden table number ever— we know you’d sit right down! From our beautiful bride to the final detail of the pale pink monogrammed menu board, this wedding was bursting with color and style. Our beautiful bride, Laura, delivered detail with a gush-worthy punch. Taking the soft, feminine elements of romantic coral and white blooms and accessorizing them with modernly natural textures of wood and burlap. The outcome was as breathtaking and as timeless as our bride and groom were themselves. What really caught our eye? It was Laura’s effortless chic style. That show-stopping hem of her dress was as ruffled as our beloved blooms and the “Mr. & Mrs.” chairs were simply sublime. Blissful.

DESIGNER’S TIP: A “Pop” of color goes a long way. Look carefully at the picture below, Laura gifted her bridesmaids with turquoise earrings. This is a great example, as is our incorporation of coral in the flowers, that a punch of color can still be subtle for a softer appeal. It’s in how you choose to use the color that will decipher its varying degree of soft  to bold. Enjoy. julielivingstonphotography-4369 copy julielivingstonphotography-4396 copy - Copy julielivingstonphotography-3839 copy julielivingstonphotography-4433 copy - Copyjulielivingstonphotography-3726 copy julielivingstonphotography-3721 copy julielivingstonphotography-3714 copy julielivingstonphotography-4093 copy julielivingstonphotography-3810 copyjulielivingstonphotography-3855 copyjulielivingstonphotography-3715 copyjulielivingstonphotography-3742 copyTALENTED VENDOR ACCOLADES: Photography: Julie Livingston Photography, Event Coordination: Social Butterfly, Venue: 128 South

Just Peachy: May’s Wedding Color Inspiration

May 7th, 2014

a355d0035ace0b1b4b1f5d0f19cfc5d6There’s something so deliciously delightful about the color peach. Maybe it’s because it can complement many other hues in the wedding color wheel, or because it’s the softer shade of coral, it just emulates a cheerful feeling. As designers, we always have our eyes out for those tiny details that bring a look together, and lately we’ve been swooning over this dreamy color as our month’s inspiration. Whether you display it creatively in its natural fruit form or accent it in the the bridesmaids dresses and flowers, we’re cheering for peach this summer season.

Have you ever met a southerner who doesn’t love a sweet summer peach? Below are some simple ways we love to use this trending color…. it’s just peachy!julielivingstonphotography-3736 copybride and her gals781a4ce16ac55a8f38699c5318e5fd55 cbb58379d19187003477f2215b762b64 bouquetchelsea and logan-007decor8blog

A Romantic Surprise Wedding: Peach & Mint

March 19th, 2014

There is a reason the Juliet cabbage rose is so popular amongst our brides. This fragrant rose has the most exquisite petals, layered in delicate ruffles that exude beauty and romance. Our lovely September bride, Katelyn, tastefully chose this breathtaking rose as the main component to her timeless peach and white bouquet set among varieties of roses, peach hypercium, dusty miller, and rustic texture.  Katelyn and Jeremy’s wedding was a surprise…literally! This lovely couple pulled off what most couples do not dare to try, a surprise wedding for all that attended. With an eye for timeless style and a color palette of peach & mint, it was a pleasure to design our sly and lovely couple’s wedding flowers, from the rustic infused twine details to the antique pink hydrangea centerpieces, this was one celebration worth waiting for!

What was our favorite design detail? You can probably guess by the intro, the beautiful bride’s bouquet. Designed to complement Katelyn’s stunning lace wedding dress, this bouquet takes the cake for timeless romance. Enjoy.bouquet

Ethereal & Romantic: A Bountiful Garden Deisgn

February 20th, 2014

Natalie and Patrick_Fiore-14 - CopyEthereal. This is the word that always pops into our heads when we see the pictures from our lovely bride, Natalie’s, wedding.  It’s no wonder Style Me Pretty showcased this wildly romantic wedding this past winter (click on link to check it out). With a floral design full of deep coral and blush tones, and a billowy garden look that would make any gardener gush, this wedding takes the cake for whimsical and romantic. Just look below at that marvelous moment captured of this handsome couple walking in the sunlit woods, divine. Natalie’s eye for soft, feminine details were displayed in her wedding party’s delicate chiffon dresses and her floral direction of a “Lush and Natural Garden” aesthetic.  We used bunches (tons) of varying roses, dahlias, anemones, and greens were to perfectly design this lovely bride’s  “Spilling” bouquet. What was our favorite detail? All of it. No joke. We were so taken a back by the utter romance of this wedding design—from the bouquets to the lead arrangements—that to only pick one detail wouldn’t be fair. Natalie’s overall feel was so apparent in her details and design choices we were simply giddy over everything! Sherbet & Sparkle- A Figure 8 Island Wedding

February 5th, 2014

I_0367Don’t you just love a little sparkle in your life? Our ultra-glam bride, Corina, shone bright for her wondrous spring wedding at Figure 8 Island Yacht Club. The bride is a friend of ours, so it’s no wonder we were a bit weepy as this handsome couple exchanged vows. Corina’s vision of a sherbet color story and a clean, romantic aesthetic was a delight  as we selected all of our favorite peach and cream roses we could get our hands on. The bride’s color choice of “faded sherbet” allowed the flowers to pop against her bridesmaids’ coral peach dresses and the bride’s miles of glamorous tulle. Corina and Gordan’s wedding was that perfect mix of romance and sophistication. What was our favorite part? The petal peach wrap adorning a little sparkle. Everything looks better with a little sparkle!

DESIGNER’S TIP: Mixing a subtle, but similar, palette adds an element of depth so each blended color can perfectly ‘pop’. When you incorporate in a variety of complementing colors, all your details shine bright! Corina’s bouquet was a variety sherbet hues which allowed all her stunning details to stand out—such as the bouquet’s ribbon wrap and that drool worthy jewelry.
